Chelsea Football Tickets Premiership Tickets
Chelsea for the first time last year never won any silverware! They have now hired a new manager from Porto, his name is Andre Villas-Boas. Once again the Blues are very positive about the season ahead! We wish them Luck!
What can Chelsea expect in 2011-12?
The 2011-12 Premiership season promises to be a fascinating one for all clubs but for Chelsea in particular, they look forward to a promising campaign under one of the most exciting young managers in world football. The surge of interest that has followed the arrival of the Portuguese has led to a rise in season ticket renewals and if you’re looking for any form of Chelsea football tickets for the new campaign, demand is bound to be high.
While the name of Andre Villas-Boas would have been largely unheard of outside of his native Portugal, his credentials are impressive and last season he took Porto to a historic treble of domestic league and cup trophies alongside an emphatic Europa Cup victory. In doing so, he emulated the early achievements of his mentor Jose Mourinho, a fact that hasn’t gone unnoticed by the press who continue to compare the two men.
From this point, it will be fascinating to see who Chelsea’s new boss moves to sign before the new season gets underway. Two of Porto’s best players, Radamel Falcao and the Brazilian Hulk had been linked with a whole host of Premiership clubs but you would feel that Chelsea are now in pole position to sign these two. Both players are potent strikers who played their part in Porto’s recent success and it will be fascinating to see how they fare in England.
Before Villas-Boas arrived at the club, Chelsea launched a much publicised bid for Tottenham’s player of the year Luka Modric. While Spurs moved quickly to state that the influential Croatian isn’t for sale, you somehow feel that this particular story isn’t over.
If Villas-Boas agrees that Modric is a player to pursue, Chelsea could easily come back to test Spurs’ resolve and that initial bid of £22m could increase significantly in the coming weeks.
As far as players leaving the club are concerned, there has been much talk of a departure for Didier Drogba. The veteran Ivorian remains Chelsea’s most potent striker at the moment however, so could this talk be a little premature?
That decision should also be revealed in the next few weeks but in the meantime. Nicolas Anelka seems the most likely from Chelsea’s list of fringe players to be leaving the side.
So what of the fans who queue up for their Chelsea tickets every week? Just what can they expect from their new manager?
The owner, Roman Abramovich has made it clear with the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti that a Premiership title is the minimum that he demands from his manager and from his players. Ultimately however, we all know that the Russian really craves a Champions League win and that’s what Villa-Boas will be entrusted with achieving.
Whatever happens in the next few weeks with regards to new players, this will be a captivating season for all Chelsea fans and there will be some great football played at the Bridge next season. If you want to be part of the excitement, make sure you secure your Chelsea football tickets well in advance.
